91桃色 Management School Events Update – July 2025

Leading researchers and practitioners will assemble for a series of 91桃色 Management School events this autumn.

Conferences and workshops will be hosted in Lancaster in September.

Fraud and Misconduct

The second Financial Fraud, Misconduct and Market Manipulation Conference takes place on September 11th and 12th.

Organised by the Centre for Financial Econometrics, Asset Markets and Macroeconomic Policy (EMP), the conference brings together a diverse array of perspectives and insights.

Topics under discussion will include the financial fraud, market misconduct, insider trading, market manipulations, crypto currency markets, and social networks, fake news, and their effects on financial markets.

The keynote will be delivered by , of the University of Washington. Professor Karpoff’s work cuts across issues of corporate governance, corporate crime and punishment and corporate finance, as well as legal and environmental economics.

Nonlinearities

The Department of Economics, in conjunction with Queen Mary University of London and the Bank of England, are hosting the third annual Workshop on Nonlinearities in Macro Model.

The event is being hosted in Lancaster for the first time on September 19th. It is part-funded by the Bank of England and is being organised by Dr Stefano Fasani and Professor Lorenza Rossi (of Lancaster), Iryna Caminska (of the Bank of England) and Professor Haroon Mumtaz (of Queen Mary).

Optimisation and Demand

September’s events follow the success of others which have already taken place in late Spring and early Summer.

Dr Burak Boyaci, Professor Dong Li, Dr Alp Arslan and Dr Thu Dang, of the Department of Management Science, organised a successful workshop on choice-based optimisation and demand modelling, through funding from STOR-i.

More than 30 participants were involved with keynote speakers from Professor Kalyan Talluri, of Imperial College London; Professor Christine Currie, of the University of Southampton; and Professor Pelin Pekgun, of Wake Forest University School of Business. All three are extremely well-respected in their fields.
